The Division of Pharmacy Practice invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in social and administrative pharmacy at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidates should have expertise/interest in one of the following areas: population health, labour and workforce, patient safety or organizational behavior change.

The successful candidate is expected to develop an active research program, including attracting external research funding, and to complement the research activities of other faculty members. Other responsibilities include creating and delivering instruction in the undergraduate pharmacy program in the areas of pharmacy management and Provincial and Canadian health; course administration; teaching in the graduate pharmacy program; and engaging in service to the faculty, university and community.

Applicants must possess a PhD or equivalent degree, demonstrate a record of professional accomplishment and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous research and teaching experience is desirable.

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences offers one of the strongest Pharmacy degree programs in Canada. The Faculty has 520 undergraduate and 60 graduate students, and new physical facilities will be available over the next 2 years. The province of Alberta offers the most unique practice environment in North America with additional prescribing authority, access to laboratory values and reimbursement for patient care services. Excellent opportunities exist for collaborative research with other disciplines within the faculty and university as well as outside the university.

The University of Alberta is located in Edmonton, a vibrant, cosmopolitan city of 1 million and the provincial capital. The campus is located adjacent to one of the largest municipal park systems in North America and is approximately 3.5 hours by car from the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
