PHARMACY CLINICIAN SCIENTIST/ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (STATUS ONLY) - Mt Sinai Hospital - Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto

The Department of Pharmacy at Mt. Sinai Hospital, an academic health science centre affiliated with the University of Toronto, is recruiting a Pharmacy Clinician Scientist. The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (status only) in the Division of Pharmacy Practice at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. The position will be a 5-year, full-time appointment, renewable following review.

The primary focus of this position is clinical/translational research. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and build a self-sustaining clinical/translational research program in affiliation with Mt. Sinai Hospital. He/she will be expected to provide leadership and mentorship for scholarly activity to practitioners, pharmacy residents and fellows. The candidate will have teaching responsibilities in the professional curriculum at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto and the opportunity to participate in graduate and postgraduate education.

Candidates for this position must have earned a Pharm.D or an MSc or Ph.D. (in pharmacy), with relevant postgraduate training or research experience. Candidates must have an active practice license, or have the qualifications to obtain a practice license, in Ontario. Applicants must have a strong clinical knowledge base with current clinical practice/research experience. The clinical focus of the candidate's work is negotiable and may include cardiology, critical care, general medicine, infectious disease, transplant, oncology, neurosciences, or primary care. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The individual must enjoy interacting with both students and pharmacy practitioners.
