AFPC Annual Conference 2010

CANADIAN PHARMACY EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CONFERENCE (CPERC) The 2010 first annual CPERC Conference and 67th AFPC Annual General Meeting will be held in Richmond (Vancouver), British Columbia on June 2-4, 2010 in the River Rock Casino Resort, Richmond BC. The theme of the 2010 conference is Bringing the Blueprint to Life. This year the AFPC Conference is being held jointly with the Canadian Society for Pharmaceutical Sciences (CSPS). For the draft Schedule for the meetings and conference click here. The conference opens on Wednesday evening June 2 with a joint reception with CSPS followed by the AFPC opening dinner that will feature presentations of the 2010 major faculty award winners. The CPERC program begins on Thursday, June 3 and involves a plenary session, workshops, breakout sessions and research symposia to engage conference delegates in critical issues for pharmacy education and practice in the “Blueprint” era. The Pharmacy Technician Educators Association and PEP Canada will be making special presentations. All in all, expect a very engaging program.

All breaks and poster sessions are combined with CSPS. Posters will be presented on both days of the conference with extensive poster viewing and judging occurring on the Friday. The AFPC Annual General Meeting is scheduled for 12:30 PM on June 3 with lunch being served. All conference registrants are invited to attend. This year, AFPC is proposing a graduate student session that will parallel the AGM. Lunch will also be served.

To wind up the conference AFPC delegates with tickets will bus to downtown Vancouver for the Awards Banquet. The banquet is an excellent opportunity to celebrate all of our award winners and to experience some genuine West Coast hospitality and fun. This year, the awards banquet will occur on a paddle wheeler boat during an evening cruise of Coal Harbour, Stanley Park and False Creek. See the sights, take some pictures, enjoy the food and perhaps there may even be some dancing. Get your tickets!
