AFPC Annual Conference 2013

CANADIAN PHARMACY EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CONFERENCE (CPERC)

The 2013 4th annual CPERC Conference and 70th AFPC Annual General Meeting will be held in Niagara-on-the Lake on June 11-13, 2013 in the Vintage Hotels. The theme for the 2013 conference is Leading Change Through Innovation and Technology.

The preliminary version of the conference program is now posted (see conference program web page).

The conference opens on Tuesday evening June 11 with a reception. The educational program begins on Wednesday, June 12 with a plenary session, a session about informatics education, and short presentations on innovative initiatives in pharmacy education and research. Also, on June 12 National award winners’ presentations will occur. On Thursday, June 13 the day includes poster presentations; and sessions on the new CCAPP accreditation standards, experiential learning, round table discussions about selected education / research topics, and short presentations on innovative initiatives in pharmacy education and research.

Posters will be presented and judged on June 13. The AFPC Annual General Business Meeting is scheduled at 12:30 PM on June 12 with lunch being served. All conference registrants are invited to attend.

To wind up the conference AFPC delegates with tickets will attend the closing banquet. The closing banquet is an excellent opportunity to celebrate all of our award winners and experience a unique dining experience at a local dining establishment. Get your tickets!

Call for abstracts: Abstract submission is available online. For details of abstract requirements click here. The deadline for submission of abstracts is April 15, 2013.

Registration: Please register using the AFPC website link. Please note that you will be contacted separately for payment. Full early bird member registration of $500 will include the opening reception on June 11, 2013 and the annual business meeting lunch on June 12, 2013. For those attending the awards banquet on Thursday evening June 13, 2013 there will be an additional charge (price to be determined) to offset event costs (meal and facility rental).

Transportation: Niagara-on-the-Lake is approximately 1.5 hours from the Toronto and Hamilton Airports. There is a shuttle from the airports.
